Quality WoodWe only use the best lodgepole pine for our clients!
If you’re buying lodgepole pine whether it’s for a fencing project, landscaping, a garden structure, a beautiful entryway or something else, it’s likely that you want it to last for at least 20 years. One of the ways we ensure that Heartland projects last a long time is by being really picky about the wood we use.
If you want to see examples of our recent work, check out our Instagram feed below to see exactly what our wood looks like!
FULLY PRESSURE TREATED
Our wood is fully pressured treated from top to bottom AFTER we mill it so there are no exposed areas that are untreated.
We keep straight rails for all our fence projects so you love the way it looks!
We look for beautiful, smooth wood in the rails we use for fencing.
We look for beautiful, smooth wood in the posts we use for fencing.
Straight posts is absolutely necessary to what we do so we filter for the straightest posts!
We would never use wood that was only treated on the ends or treated and then cut exposing wood to the elements.
If a rail is bowed (has a curve to it) we toss it in the reject pile!
If a rail has a crack that largers than 1/4″, it gets tossed in the reject pile!
CAT FACE POSTS
If a post has a huge blemish (which we call a cat face)… off to the reject pile!
If a post is bowed or curved in any way, it becomes firewood!
